Drivers travelling down Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway on Saturday morning ended up stuck behind the “world’s largest truck convoy.”
The World’s Largest Truck Convoy is a project run by the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a community working to raise funds and awareness for the Special Olympics organization and athletes.
Starting at 11 a.m. at the Oak Bluff Recreation Centre on Provincial Trunk Highway 3, an estimated 200 semi-trailers rumbled down the road, finishing around noon.
In 2014, 190 semis took part, raising $59,000 for Special Olympics.
Fundraising totals aren’t in yet but organizers hope they raised even more this year.
